Kevin Bartley

In his own words:

My name is Kevin Bartley and I am 40 yrs old.  I am married to a wonderful and patient woman and have been blessed with a 3 yr old son who is eager to start hunting and fishing with his dad.

My passion is turkey hunting followed closely by the pursuit of the Canadian whitetail deer.  You may also find me in the duck blind with my dog Drake in the fall.

In all my hunting great optics are an important part of a successful hunt. I have been fortunate to be a part of the Vortex team and benefit from the great products they offer.

I am also the owner of GobbleStalker Calls and as you can see a few of my prostaff members also have Vortex optics in their bag of tricks.

A Hunter's Tale

One Quick Hunt!

It started as a mid afternoon hunt...

Headed out to the back of the property and instead of cutting across the field, decided to walk the edge.

Came up over the first knoll, and had a look through my Votex binoculars, and what do I see but a full fan with a couple of hens.  As I drop to the ground and scurry into the raspberry cane edge, I decide to crawl out 5 yards and drop my decoy, named Penelope, and do a quick set up.  A few calls on my GobbleStalker batwing mouth call and I have gobbling and a hen charging my decoy for a fight.  Next thing I see a large fan.

I have one shot opportunity and the tom walks through. I didn’t get the shot, but he makes the mistake of waking back, and the dream ends and the memory begins.  23 lbs, a pair of 1/14” spurs, with a 10inch beard.

Total hunt time approx 8 minutes.
